The World's Largest Sunflower
See you in 2027

Thank you to the thousands of families who walked the giant sunflower with us. We’re already growing the seeds for next year. Pop your email in below to be the first to know when 2027 dates open.

A field of giant sunflowers in full bloom at Mornington Green Living Legacy Gardens.

About the giant sunflower

Now in its 3rd year, the world’s largest sunflower is made from 3,000 individual sunflower plants arranged into one giant bloom.

We created this at Mornington Green to celebrate life. Our gardens are the world’s first botanical memorial garden where families transform ashes into living trees.

Just like this giant sunflower, each memorial tree creates thousands of seeds. Life continues through nature.

Our mission is to plant 6,000 memorial trees across the Mornington Peninsula, creating a living legacy for future generations.

Common questions

Anything we haven’t covered? Drop us a line and we’ll get back to you before next year’s bloom.

Most people spend 1.5 to 2 hours visiting the sunflower festival Melbourne at Living Legacy Garden Mornington Green, giving you time to see the giant sunflower, walk the gardens, and take photos.

Absolutely. Personal cameras and phones are welcome. The sunflower fields are one of the most photographed spots on the Peninsula. Tripods are fine in low-traffic areas; please be mindful of other visitors.

It's a rain or shine event. Sunflowers are even more striking under moody skies. Bring a raincoat and sturdy shoes; we don't issue refunds for weather, but tickets can be transferred to another session.

Yes. Hot food, refreshments and picnic packs are available on site. You're also welcome to bring your own picnic and enjoy it on the lawns.

Fresh-cut sunflowers are available to purchase on the day. They make a beautiful keepsake from your visit and support our memorial tree planting program.

Tickets are non-refundable, but they're transferable to another session within the same event window. If you can't make it, contact us before your booked time and we'll do our best to help.
