Family Memorial Tree

One tree for
the whole family.

A single tree for the whole family. Members and pets are added over the years.

How it works

Step by step,
over the years.

From the first meeting to the last name added. Everything happens at the gardens, at the pace the family sets.

Meet as a family. Tour the gardens. Choose the tree size and species that suits the family.

The tree is planted in the gardens. A plaque at the base will hold names over time.

When a family member passes, ashes are treated and added to the tree at a ceremony. Their name is added to the plaque.

The horticulture team cares for the tree year-round. No further cost or action required.

The garden is open all year. The tree is always there. More members can be added over decades.

Pre-plan a tree for ageing parents before the need arises.

Comparison

One tree. One family.

Cemeteries place each person in their own plot. Scattering leaves no fixed place to return. A Family Memorial Tree at Mornington Green holds the family in a single living tree, added to over years.

Questions

Before you decide

Answers to what families ask before they decide.

Five sizes. Small holds 1, medium 2, large 5, extra large 8, Accent Tree 12. Pets count toward the total.

The tree is here on the Mornington Peninsula whenever anyone can make the trip. Families scattered across Australia — and internationally — find it helpful to have one fixed place to come back to, rather than different memorials in different states. You visit when you can, and the tree is always there.

Yes. The tree holds whoever the family considers family. Step-parents, step-siblings, and extended family members are all welcome. When you plan the tree with a Legacy Planner, you decide who belongs in it.

That is exactly how the tree is designed to work. The first member can be added this year; the last, decades from now. Your plan stays on file, and when the time comes, we handle the ash treatment, ceremony, and plaque update. There is no deadline and no rush.

Yes. Pets count toward the tree and are infused using the same patented Living Legacy process as human ashes. Human and animal ashes share the same soil, and the pet's name can be added to the plaque alongside the rest of the family.
